TEN FACTS ABOUT THE
EUROPEAN UNION
1. It started as a
Common Market.
In other words, a free trade area, where governments promise not to tax or
obstruct goods from other nations.
2. 10% of the E.U.'s budget disappears in fraud
and bad management.
Somebody correct us; about £300 million per year?
-
Nobody is held responsible; fraudulent Commissioners were back at their
desks shortly after being sacked.
-
The E.U. accounts have not been verified and signed off for twelve
years...
-
Chief amongst the whistleblowers, accountant Marta Andreassen was given
her marching orders...
-
and anti-corruption minister Neil Kinnock came back richer than ever and
polishing his laurels.
3. Over 25,000 E.U. laws affect Britain.
The French, Italians, Greeks, and others of similar nature simply ignore the new
rules as they always did. 'Law-abiding' citizens of countries such as Germany
and the UK do their best to comply, then watch their countries being slowly
crippled with red tape. Even some of the new E.U. member states are starting to
realise with horror what their politicians have let them in for.
4. 'Laws' are passed in the euro Parliament at
approaching 300 laws per hour.
Each MEP can address the European Parliament for 90 seconds. As you may imagine,
laws are carefully debated, in the Euro Parliament. Most laws are passed
by show of hands, counted by the current presiding officer. Once UKIP MEP's
cottoned on to this trick, they used their legal entitlement to call for
electronic voting, which (surprise, surprise) led to every challenged
show-of-hands pass becoming a fail.
5. Despite all the promises made about Treaty
renegotiation, not one eurolaw has been repealed.
In fact, our Parliament has no choice under the three treaties- we must
enact eurolaws, because our politicians have given the E.U. precedence over
British law. And under the ratchet of aquis communautaire, once Brussels
has legislated in an area, it keeps that right of legislation. Read any Party
election promises with that in mind.
6. All three major parties want Britain in the
E.U.
Unfortunately for them, over half the population wants no further 'integration'.
An increasing percentage of the population want out altogether. About a fifth
feel so strongly that they have voted for UKIP. Even tried and tested voters of
all parties are starting to leave for UKIP. UKIP is not alone, either: the
populations of Europe are starting to gather on the matter.
7. 'Laws' in the euro Parliament are generated
by the European Commission.
This group is unelected, cannot be held responsible for their errors, and has a
legal protection against all criminal acts. Commissioners take an oath NOT to
act in the interests of their own country (Which does not seem to prevent them
acting in their OWN interests.) As far as we know, not one law has been
introduced into the euro Parliament as a direct result of the wishes of the
European people, via their elected MP's and MEP's.
8. The European Court of Justice is biased.
It MUST, under its own rules of formation, find verdicts which lead to
'ever closer union' in Europe. If this means trampling roughshod over common
sense and morality, that is what it does.
9. We pour some forty BILLION pounds every
year into the E.U.
Some sources quote thirty billion. We get about one third back. Ten billion is
ten billion. But: we are told what to spend that ten billion on; and glory of
glories, we must match it. Forty billion pounds is a huge 'Independence
dividend'. All we need do to claim it is leave the E.U.
10. We can get out if we want to.
We simply convince enough MP's in Parliament, and repeal the European
Communities Act 1972.
Under British Law NO ACT OF ANY GOVERNMENT IS BINDING ON
ITS SUCCESSORS.
